Silver you can enquire about
- Sterling silver chains, bracelets, bangles and rings
- Broken or tangled silver jewellery and single earrings
- Other silver items — describe them when you enquire
Every item is assessed individually; we cannot promise every item can be bought.
Reading silver marks
- 925 — sterling silver, 92.5% pure silver.
- 958 — Britannia silver, 95.8% pure.
- 800 — common on continental European silver.
- EPNS, EP, "silver plate" — usually plated, with very little silver.
As with gold, many genuine items are unmarked or the mark has worn. Our hallmarks guide explains how UK marks work.
A realistic expectation
Silver is worth much less than gold by weight, so offers for silver are usually modest. It is still worth enquiring if you have pieces you no longer want — especially alongside gold jewellery or broken gold.
